2025 Boat Parade

Bob Spellman: join me in offering our thanks and congratulations to Admiral Danny Nicholson and his wife Commodore Christine for six years of exceptional leadership. They created the theme, produced, managed, lead the boat parade and made it all look effortless. We also want to thank their daughter, Molly Decker, for designing the catchy logos over the years. Danny and Christine are stepping down from this traditional Lovell Lake event and we need someone to take the reins. Danny has said that he will be happy to assist the new Boat Parade admiral with the transition. If interested, please contact Anne Howe at [email protected].

The boat on the left is Danny’s. That’s him at the helm, Christine and their team leading our joyous boat parade. Michael Chabon wrote this about the circus, but his words pertain to our Boat Parades as well:“Success in the circus is not a gift—it’s earned through hours of sweat, practice, and an unwavering belief in the dream.”  And that seems to me to be how Danny approached the Boat Parade.

Congratulations to our First Place Award winners – the team of Scally, Quinn and White.

“We are all clowns, balancing on the tightrope of life.” – Charlie Chaplin

In Second Place was Jodi O’Neil and her circus of oddities.

A circus performer’s talent is knowing how to captivate hearts, one leap, one spin, and one dazzling moment at a time.” – Neil Gaiman

Third Place went to Steve Conway and his family.

“The circus is a place where smiles are contagious and laughter fills the air.” – P.T. Barnum
