This summer on Lovell Lake was spectacular! The weather cooperated and many folks enjoyed boating, fishing, swimming, campfires, picnics, blueberry picking, and socializing with friends and family. Sunday sailing races, the ice cream social, and the boat parade and camp decorating provided fun and entertainment for our entire community. We are so fortunate to call this special place home.

We are fortunate to have Veronica Bodge, Land Agent from MMRG, being our featured presenter for this year’s annual meeting. Veronica is joining us to highlight the Hraba/Jennison land project and answer any questions that you may have. The Jennison property lies on approximately 130 forested acres off Brackett Road. The entirety of the property falls within the Lovell Lake Watershed and is therefore of primary importance in mitigating development and its impact on water quality.

There is just so much happening around the lake and in LLA committees. Below is a snapshot of items we hope you keep on your radar as we head into the peak summer months.

Our 2024 newsletter cycle kicks off with an entertaining history of ice harvesting on Lovell Lake by Bob Spellman. Please read and enjoy. Scroll to the end and learn about the Town of Wakefield’s 250th Birthday festivities and an obituary announcement for Yola Mourginis.

Imagine you are a Wakefield farmer. It’s February and it’s 200 years ago. Your farm is dormant. You’ve tended to the animals, stored hay and firewood, repaired your tools and you are ready for spring. Now what? Your wife …

For many residents, Fall on Lovell Lake continues to stun with its beautiful sunrises and sunsets, crisp quiet mornings, and no lines at our favorite eating establishments. For those of us who have closed up camp, the @lovelllakecommunity on Facebook is a place to keep up with local happenings and catch a glimpse of some beautiful photos taken by local residents. The LLA also has a @LovelllakeAssociation Facebook Page where we post news specific to our mission. Follow both and bring some joy to your daily scroll.
