Warren Reeves was treasurer of the Lovell Lake Association for nearly 20 years but his devotion to the lake was lifelong. That love of the lake culminated in a $25,000 unrestricted check presented to President Craig Rowley by Warren’s estate.

“I was very pleased to accept the check in the association’s name. It is the largest one-time donation in the association’s history. Our members are very generous but this donation is special,” said Craig.

The monies were placed in the association’s general fund for future consideration.

Warren came to Lovell Lake via his late wife, Jean Dow Reeves. According to good friend Dick Peckham, after Warren and Jean were married “they spent nearly every summer at the “Bungalow” built by “Gramps” Dow in 1935 at 136 Pond Road. Prior to that, Jean had spent her summers along with her brother, David, at the same location.”

Dick reminisced that Warren and Jean had many friends on the lake, particularly Bob Tucker and his wife “Charlie.” After Jean died, Warren continued to summer at the lake until about 13 years ago when health issues interfered.

“Lovell Lake was held dear by Warren and his commitment to the association is unquestionable,” said Dick.

Current treasurer Alan Heacock took over the books from Warren in 2008. “When Warren sold his cottage, he continued his membership every year at the Golden Loon level,” said Alan, reinforcing Warren’s commitment to the lake, whether through service or financially.
