Lovell Lake Retrospective - The Summer of '25
Welcome to our look back at the Summer of ’25. As a member of LLA, you are welcome to download any of the photos for your personal use. Photos are of high enough resolution to print as large as 8×10. However, photos are not necessarily cropped to 8×10. Cropping is based on what makes sense for the image. If you wish to print larger or need specific dimensions, please contact Bob Spellman at [email protected].
We have separated the photos into the following categories:
- Lake Life – enjoying the lake – watersports, etc. Note: If you see a photo of yourself or family that you do not want on our website, contact Bob Spellman and he will have the photo taken down immediately.
- Homes/Camps – random photos of lakeside homes taken when the light is good. We have heard from many members that they do not have a good photo of their camp/home taken from the water. No attempt was made to take photos of all the homes. If you would like a photo taken of your home, please contact Bob Spellman.
- Birds – loons, eagles, osprey and one kingfisher. Loon chicks grow very quickly and by August they are a lovely shade of gray. Starting in September, the adults begin to lose their black and white feathers and turn gray. Why? Mating season is over. It takes energy to produce and maintain the black and white mating feathers. Grey is energy efficient. The adults grow their sexy black and white feathers back in the early spring. The osprey photos were taken near Damariscotta, ME. All other photos were taken on Lovell Lake.
